Welcome to The Heatons Preschool Group

At The Heatons Preschool and Day Nursery, we provide a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. With two welcoming sites in Heaton Mersey and Heaton Moor, we pride ourselves on offering high-quality care and education for children from birth to five years. We are open Monday to Friday, from 8am-6pm, for 50 weeks of the year.

We have our own Forest School with fully trained Teachers on site and have been awarded The Woodland Trust Gold Award in 2026. We were also named Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2025, demonstrating our commitment to the development our staff and ensuring your children get the best care whilst with us.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage through an inclusive play-based curriculum that builds confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning, while ensuring every child’s individual needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) or those who may face barriers to learning, are fully supported by our nursery SENCOs and experienced staff.

How 'The Heatons' began...

Hello and thank you for your interest in The Heatons Preschool and Day Nursery. My name is Marie Feeley and I am the owner of The Heatons Preschool Group. I am a qualified primary school teacher with over fifteen years’ experience teaching and leading in the Early Years. I have two daughters, Louise and Emma. For the 10 years prior to establishing The Heatons, I led a successful early years team in a South Manchester primary school. I am passionate about the impact that quality childcare provides in the early years of a child’s life. Our children are born ready to learn and we see them developing so much during their early months and years. If you choose to entrust us with the next phase of your child’s development we will excel at providing a caring, fun and stimulating environment – and they will thrive in our care.
